HAD Cloud Vault was created out of a simple, urgent observation: small and mid-sized Brazilian businesses were one ransomware attack — or one hard-drive failure — away from closing their doors permanently. We decided to do something about it. Every product decision, every infrastructure investment, every line of support text we write is shaped by that original conviction.

The founding team at HAD Cloud came from enterprise IT backgrounds where multi-million-dollar backup budgets were the norm. When we started working with Brazilian SMEs, we found a deeply uncomfortable reality: most of them had no reliable backup at all. A shared folder on a Windows Server, an occasional manual copy to an external drive — fragile, unmonitored, and entirely untested against actual disaster.
The wake-up call came through a client: a 40-person accounting firm that lost seven years of client files to a single ransomware infection on a Friday evening. Their "backup" was an external drive plugged into the same infected machine. They never fully recovered. Neither did we, in a sense — that event shaped everything about how we built Cloud Vault.
We designed Cloud Vault to be the product that firm needed and never had: automatic, invisible in day-to-day operations, cryptographically secure, and simple enough that an IT-generalist could deploy it in an afternoon. We kept the infrastructure inside Brazil because our clients' data belongs here, under Brazilian law, accessible with Brazilian support hours.

The Vault agent encrypts every dataset with AES-256 on your own hardware before a single byte touches the network. Keys are derived from credentials only you hold. This is client-side encryption done properly — not server-side with a promise.

This is not a feature we added in response to LGPD. It was a founding principle. We believe that a Brazilian company's most sensitive operational data — financial records, client databases, HR systems, contracts — should be stored on infrastructure that is physically located in Brazil, governed by Brazilian law, and operated by a Brazilian team that speaks your language.
That conviction means we operate our own data center presence here rather than reselling capacity from foreign hyperscalers with Brazilian "regions" that are still governed by foreign jurisdictions. The distinction matters more than most IT conversations acknowledge.
